THE DREAM @ TEATRO DI ANGLI ANGELI

VERONA, ITALY 2017

verona.jpg

After the success of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' in 2016, the company were invited to Verona in June of 2017 to share the play as part of the renowned Shakespeare Festival that takes place in the Italian city. Led by director Jaq Bessell, the cast delivered a weekend of Shakespeare workshops culminating in a performance of the The Dream at the picturesque Teatro ANGLI ANGELI in the heart of fair Verona. Proving Shakespeare's text speaks to all languages, many of the country's top scholars and students of Shakespeare remarked that it was the best production of the play that they had ever seen.

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM

420TH ANNIVERSAIRY PRODUCTION

BERKELEY CASTLE, 2016

WATCH THE 2016 TRAILER

Following on from the Edinburgh Fringe, the company decided to move in an altogether different direction, producing open-air Shakespeare in the summer of 2016 alongside Berkeley Castle. However, this wasn't just any Shakespeare in the garden, this was in celebration of two very special anniversaries: firstly, the 400 year anniversary of Shakespeare's death; secondly, and more personally, it was the 420th anniversary of A Midsummer Night's Dream- a play written by the Bard for a BERKELEY FAMILY WEDDING. Indeed, the production brought the dream back home.

WASTE OF TIME

EDINBURGH FRINGE FESTIVAL, 2015

fringe 11.jpg

The company's first venture was a trip to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2015. Like many theatrical outfits who attend the festival, this was an opportunity for the company to test out some brand new ideas with the 'Waste of Time' season. A repertory system of two plays set in 1985 and 2085 studied our relationship with time, examining how much a century would (or could) change our lives.
